Iron Mountain:
Mary K. "Micki" Debelak, age 65, a 40-year resident of Iron Mountain, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
She was born August 17, 1938, in Rapid City, South Dakota, and moved to Escanaba, Michigan, with her family, in 1942. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1956. Micki married Richard "Jim" Debelak on June 16, 1962.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, son Daryn J. (Danielle) Debelak of Seattle, Washington, and her sister Elizabeth Eldred (John) Fikejs of Wheaton, Illinois, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Kenneth Eldred and brother David Keith Eldred in 1955. Her mother Anne Katherine VanLoo Eldred died in 1995.
In addition to her role as mother and homemaker, Micki was involved in retail sales for the major portion of her working years, where she enjoyed meeting and interacting with people. The spirit with which Micki approached church and community activities is a lasting memorial. She found true joy in family and special friends. She was able to express her creativity in decorating, crafts and especially as a master basket weaver. Micki's humanity, humility and loving-kindness will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A celebration of both Micki's earthly and eternal life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 6, 2003, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Meredith Rupe will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to the Memorial Fund of the Trinity United Methodist Church in her memory.
