Mary L. Coffland, 97, of Felch, Mich., passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at ManorCare Health Services, Kingsford. She was born October 10, 1911, in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, daughter of the late Sherwood and Ada (Graves) Coffland. Mary graduated from Richland Center High School, Richland, Wisconsin, in 1929. She went on to graduate from Illinois State University and later the University of Iowa, with a Master's Degree. Mary taught physical education at Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois, and Thornton High School in Dalton, Illinois. She retired in 1973. Mary was a member of Mission Covenant Church, Foster City. She was preceded in death by a brother, Allen; a sister, Gertrude; a niece, Ann; and very special and long time friend, Ann Sundstrom. Pastor Carl Hammer will officiate. Burial will be in Felch Cemetery in the spring.
