Obituary

Mary A. Cardin, 87, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Golden Living Center, Florence. She was born November 4, 1921, in Norway, Mich., daughter of the late Primo and Amelia (Bertoldi) Cardin. Mary was raised in Niagara, Wis. and moved to Chicago, Ill. in the late 1940's, where she began her career in the banking industry. She worked in the banking industry until her retirement in 1985, at which time she moved back to Iron Mountain to be near her family. Mary enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, visiting with family and friends, an occasional night of church bingo, and trips to the casino boat. She was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church, Kingsford. Mary was loved very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Klusken, Josephine DeStefano; four brothers, Rudy, Joseph, Gerald and Leo. Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2009, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at American Martyrs Catholic Church, Kingsford. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday, at the church. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara, Wis.
