On Christmas morning, December 25, 2009 Mary Ruth Barrow, 75, of Felch, received the greatest gift of all, entering into God's loving embrace.
Mary was born May 26, 1934, in Escanaba, Mich. Daughter of the late Oliver and Effie Gedvick and was raised in Foster City, Mich. She graduated from Felch High School and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mary enjoyed gardening, crafts, working puzzles, playing board games, and bingo.
On February 15, 1958, she joined John "Jack" Barrow in marriage and began her life as a homemaker and mother in Felch. Mary worked various jobs over the years, including accounting clerk at the Wisconsin-Michigan Power Company, clerk at the Felch Co-Op, and line worker for W.B. Steinbrecher and Sons. After retirement, Mary and Jack relocated to Brooksville, Florida, where they enjoyed spending time with family and friends in the sun.
One of Mary's greatest joys was spending time with her family who fondly referred to her as "Murrie". She is survived by her children, John (Cathi) Barrow, Tammy (David) Pelletier, Kathy (Dean) Pelletier, Judy (Todd) Hyland; her grandchildren, Melissa Pelletier, Dustin and Lindsay Pelletier, Taylor and Kellen Barrow, Chelsea and Courtney Hyland; two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Kailey Pelletier; two sisters, Judy (Louis) Orler, Kay Conery; a brother, Hollis (Ruth Ann) Gedvick, a brother-in-law, Forrest Barrow; two sisters-in-law, Donna Paquette, Beverly Barrow; special friend, Janet Lee (Kenny) Dean; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Barrow; her parents, Oliver and Effie Gedvick; her parents-in-law, Henry and Iona Barrow; a brother, Rodney Gedvick, three brothers-in-law, Mike Conery, Dick Barrow, Harvey Paquette; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Barrow.
Mary's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hyland Nursing Home and Evergreen Assisted Living for the excellent care they provided Mary over the past year and a half.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Metropolitan, Mich. The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Rev. Bill Jacobson will officiate. Burial will be in Felch Cemetery.
