Crystal Falls- Marlene Mae (Hendricksen) Lawry, 77, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich. She was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Marlene was born on April 18, 1944, in Honolulu, Hawaii, daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Maderious) Marshall. She later graduated from Honolulu High School then moved to Rhode Island due to her dad's post-war reserve status. Marlene met and married her husband Keith Hendricksen and returned to his home state of Wisconsin. They had two daughters, and she stayed home to raise them. They later divorced in 1986. Marlene then married Henry Lawry in 1990.
She worked in various jobs, including a cook at Kresge's in the Green Bay Plaza, later at West Mason Incorporated until her retirement. After Marlene retired, she and her husband Henry moved to Crystal Falls, Mich., to take care of her ailing mother-in-law. They remained there after her passing.
Marlene enjoyed fishing, playing cards and board games, bowling, sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitching. She had the most beautiful soprano voice.
Marlene is survived by her husband Henry Lawry, Crystal Falls, Mich.; two daughters, Cindy Hendricksen of Maine and Terri (Rick) Lacrosse of Green Bay, Wis.; two step-daughters, Liz (Joel) Volm and Sara (Jeremy) Chell, and their families; one brother and one sister; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her cat Keoki and her dog Angel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, one brother, and three sisters-in-law.
Love you, Mom, till we meet again in Heaven.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1414 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, Wis. Family, and friends may visit beforehand from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Marlene's memory.
