Crystal Falls - Marlene N. Bicigo, 86, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Friday, December 13, 2019, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich. She was born July 19, 1933, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Emil and Noemi (Meneguzzo) Bicigo. Marlene grew up in Crystal Falls and attended Forest Park Schools. During the summers she worked at Fortune Lake Bible Camp and babysat for many families in the area. After graduation in 1951, Marlene ventured to Detroit where she worked for both Detroit Bank & Trust Company and Manufacturers National Bank. In 1968 Marlene returned to the U.P. to take a job at Northern Michigan University in Marquette and then returned home to Crystal Falls in the 70's. Once back in Crystal Falls, Marlene worked for Flood Supply Company, Forest Park School District and the Department of Housing and Urban Development at Pleasant Valley. Marlene was an active member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and a former member of the Crystal Falls Musicale. A lifelong avid skier, Marlene also enjoyed reading, knitting and making afghans, but most of all her visits with family and friends. Marlene is survived by one sister, Irma (Frank) Quinney, Crystal Falls; one brother, Robert (Marge) Bicigo, Crystal Falls; 14 nieces/nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews; and by two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Bicigo, Marquette and Dorothy Bicigo, Crystal Falls. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by three brothers; Leo, Bruno and Emil Bicigo; and one sister, Iris Bicigo. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Prayers will be recited 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Fr. Dan Malone will officiate.
