Crystal Falls – Mark Hilberg, 41, of Crystal Falls, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, at his home. He was born on February 25, 1977, in Iron River, Mich. son of Ronald and Diane (Killoran) Hilberg. He attended Forest Park Schools and graduated with the class of 1995. Mark attended Northern Michigan University and Central Michigan University. While attending Central Michigan, he worked for Fabino Brothers Distributing. After college, he returned to the Upper Peninsula and resided in Marquette where he ran a lawn care business. Mark returned to Crystal Falls and was most recently employed with Hilberg logging. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mark was an avid sports fan and loved the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Pistons, and attended several of their events. He was also a huge Michigan Wolverines fan. Mark is survived by his parents Ronald and Diane Hilberg, Crystal Falls, Mich.; two brothers Steven Hilberg, Pensacola Fla., and Brian Hilberg, Negaunee, Mich.; three uncles William (Rose) Hilberg, Escanaba, Mich., Gary (Diane) Hilberg and George (Patty) Hilberg, Crystal Falls, Mich.; three aunts Linda (Jan) Farley, Fayette, Mich., Jeanne (Michael) Ferraro, Traverse City, Mich., Sandra (Kenton) Pfister, Omaha, Nebr. and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Lucille Hilberg and Donald and Cora Killoran and two uncles Robert and Raymond Hilberg. Mark had a kind heart and will be sadly missed by family and friends. He had many life struggles and is now at peace. Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, 2018, from 9:00 am until 11:30 am at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Funeral Services will be held 11:30 am at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Dan Malone will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
