Marjorie I. Wierschke, age 80, of Crystal Falls, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. She was born December 13, 1925 in Sycamore, Illinois daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret (Metcalf) Dunning. She married Gilbert Wierschke. He survives. Marjorie was a retired bookkeeper for an electric appliance manufacturer in Rockford, Ill. She enjoyed bookkeeping long after her retirement and moving to the Upper Peninsula in the fall of 1973. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Wierschke, Crystal Falls; two daughters, Laura I. (Al) Jenkins, Iron River, Berdina Harrison, Iron Mountain; one son, Vernon (Vicky) Johnson, Rockford, Ill; one step-daughter, Sally E. (David) Six, Anatone, Wash.; two step-sons, Gilbert(Cindy) Wierschke, Roscoe, Ill, Timothy (Sandra) Wierschke, McHenry, Ill.; 27 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Dresser, Phoenix, Ariz.; and one brother Paul (Shirley) Dunning, Downers Grove, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Geraldine Calendar. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Hematite Cemetery, Hematite township.
