Iron Mountain: Marie R. Moratti age 90 formerly of 1216 Deveraux Street in Iron Mountain, died Sunday November 9, 2003 at Manorcare health Services in Kingsford, Michigan. Marie was born on April 7, 1913 in Norway, Michigan daughter of the late Chester and Louise (Menghini) Franceschini. Marie grew up in Norway, Michigan. She married August Moratti on February 17, 1931. He preceded her in death. Marie worked as a sales clerk for Montgomery Wards in Iron Mountain for 22 years, and also baby sat for many children in the area. To this day many in the local area remember her kind ways and delicious cooking. Marie also enjoyed playing Bingo, many different card games and crocheting hot pads and doll hats at the nursing home. She was member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Marie loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by, Two sons August (Rose) Moratti of Reno, NV., Joseph (Marlyn) Moratti of Watertown, WI.., Two daughters Marlene Alessandrini of Iron Mountain, MI., Rose Marie (Larry) Lundell of Iron Mountain, MI., One Sister, Betty (Tom) Hooper of Flint, MI., 15 Grandchildren 27 Great Grandchildren. Preceded by, two brothers, Lloyd Franceschini and Arthur Swanson. Three sisters, Margaret Bartke, Dorothy Cowley and Lucille Hinds. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7PM at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Wednesday 6:30PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Thursday 10AM at the Jacobs Funeral Home. Fr. Raymond Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
