Marie "Molly" Malone, 82, of Florence, Wis., passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
She was born on October 2, 1928, in Soperton, Wis., daughter of the late Lester and Gertrude (Kibby) Prue. Molly married Edward Malone on April 27, 1946, in Hermansville, Mich. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Molly grew up in Two Rivers, Wis., later moving to Hermansville with her family. She worked at Pipkorn's Mink Ranch in Powers, Mich., Les Brown Chair Company, Hermansville, in the sewing department, and Whispering Pines, Powers, as a cook, before moving to Florence where she owned and operated Molly's Bar for many years.
She liked building puzzles, crocheting, fishing, bingo, and watching baseball as a "true" fan of the Chicago Cubs. Molly enjoyed writing poems and wrote a poem each month for the newsletter at the Golden Living Center where she resided. She also submitted a poem that was published in a book of poetry.
Molly is survived by three sons, David (Tina) Malone, Hermansville, Michael (Bernie) Malone, Powers, Bruce (Stacy) Malone, Milwaukee, Wis.; three daughters, Ann (James) Brolin, Florence, Jean Clark, Florence, Kathy (Donald Dobbyn) Ries, Hermansville; eleven grandchildren, Laura and Tina Malone, Stephanie (Steve) Grell, Heidi Zubair, Tracy (Jarrod) Hren, Eric Brolin, Michael Ries, Mario (Tracy) Ries, Nathan (Joy) Arnold, Dana (Rob) Vorin, Gary (Tesha) Malone; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Barry Malone; one grandson, Joshua Sheppard; and one great-grandson, Shaid Ahmed-Butt.
Visitation will be Monday, March 14, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Hermansville Cemetery, Hermansville.
