Marian Ruth Hegstrom, age 75, of Crystal Falls, died Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Marquette General Hospital, Marquette. She was born April 22, 1930 In Iron River, daughter of the late Lionel and Signe (Carlstrom) Sloat. On December 24, 1949 in Iron River she married Gerald Hegstrom. He survives. Marian lived most all her life in Crystal Falls. She was an active member of the Christ United Methodist, United Methodist Women (UMW), and the Ruth Circle. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Hegstrom, Crystal Falls; two daughters, Susan (James) Stoor, Rochester, Minn., Ruth Ann Palm, Crystal Falls; one son, Arthur (Betty) Hegstrom, Inkster, N.D.; eight grandchildren, Michael Stoor, Amy Adler, Brian Stoor, Jerry Hegstrom, Eric Hegstrom, Shannon Hegstrom, Travis Palm, Corey Palm; three great grandchildren, Micah Stoor, Isaac Stoor, Adam Stoor; and one brother, Lloyd (Mae) Sloat of Ontonagon. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Hegstrom and three brothers, Jim Sloat, Roland Sloat and Jack Sloat. Memorial Services will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Christ United Methodist Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Stephen Rhoades will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Crystal Falls. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
