Obituary

Margarette M. Taylor, 90, of Crystal Falls, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, Mich. She had been a patient at the Iron County Medical Care Facility since 1996. Margarette was born February 20, 1919, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late John and Anna (Dahlund) Martinson and graduated from Crystal Falls High School. She married Joseph Edward Taylor on October 17, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1992. They operated the Falls Motel prior to moving to Detroit where she was employed making custom draperies. Margarette and Joseph moved to Phoenix, Arizona upon retirement before moving back to Crystal Falls. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls. Margarette's interests included drapery making, sewing, knitting, traveling, and being with family including her many nieces and nephews. She was caring and fun loving. Margarette enjoyed her home at Lake Mary and Crystal Falls and all the family activities. She will be missed by all who were blessed to be part of her life. Margarette is survived by a stepson, Robert Taylor; stepdaughter, Nancy Rowell; three step-grandchildren, Vincent Rowell, Suzanne Rowell, Lauren Rowell-Close; and one step-great-grandchild, Zoe Rowell, all of California. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Gunhild (Rudy) Isaacson, Myrtle (Edmund) Ojala, Anna (Rudy) Dalpra, Flora (Harold) Ellingboe; four brothers, John (Margarette), Sigvard (Lula), Sigard (Elsie), Martin (Crystal); and two infant brothers, Rudolph and Reuben Martinson. Pallbearers will include Paul Dalpra, John Martinson, Robert Surface, Dan Surface, Bob Dalpra, Dan Dalpra, Gregg Schiavo, and Rudy Dalpra. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls. The funeral service will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. Memorials may be made to the United Lutheran Church memorial fund.
