Crystal Falls:
Margaret C. Parochelli (nee Stevenson) age 97, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI.
She was born September 5, 1907, in Crystal Falls, the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary ( Forslund) Stevenson. She grew up on a farm in Balsam and attended school there. She graduated from the Iron Mountain Business College in 1928 and was a secretary for Patton Timber Lumber Company in Amasa.
In 1928, she married George Dahl in Crystal Falls. They had two daughters, Marilyn and Andrea. In 1949, she married Anthony (Tony) Parochelli. They moved to Chicago, where she worked at Wells Gardner for many years. In 1977, they retired and moved back to Crystal Falls, building a home in the Lind District. Margaret was a member of the United Lutheran Church, a charter member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the Pine Circle. She liked to entertain, was a wonderful cook and loved to bake, especially Christmas cookies. She enjoyed her home and garden, did beautiful needlework and crocheting and liked playing bingo. She loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they all loved her in return.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Albert) Rhino of Crystal Falls and Bonita Springs, Florida and Andrea (James) Paetsch of Huntley, Illinois, six grandchildren, Denise Nelson of Auburn, California, Debbi (Robin) Lynd of Woodstock, Illinois, Albert (Melissa) Rhino of Woodstock Illinois, James (Claudia) Paetsch of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, David (Kayla) Paetsch of West Dundee, Illinois and Carin DeBaets of Richmond, Illinois, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tony, in August of 1999, six brothers Oscar and Albert Fernquist, Gunnard, Clifton, David and Roy Stevenson, and two sisters Jennie Johnson and Gunhild Sulasalmi.
Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005, at the United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. Visitation will be preceding the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate.
