Obituary

Margaret Evelyn Osterberg, 99, of Florence, Wis., passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Golden Living Center, Florence. She was born March 28, 1909 in Green Bay, Wis., daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Johnson) Kocha. Margaret graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1926, and worked as a secretary for Fort Howard Paper Co. In 1930, Margaret and Wesley Osterberg were married in Iron Mountain and resided in Florence since 1939. Margaret was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Florence, and the Masonic Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by three sons, Tom (Marian) Osterberg, Madison, Wis., Richard (Wanda) Osterberg, Florence, Wis., Terry (Nancy) Osterberg, Tecumseh, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Erik Osterberg, Steve (Sally) Osterberg, Peter Osterberg, David (Robin) Osterberg, Benjamin (Pamela) Osterberg, Kristin and Alan Osterberg, Lisa (Rod) Starch; four step-grandchildren, Clint (Amy) Chartier, Robbyn (Scot) Fahrenbruch, Daniel and Alexander Eckert; eight great-grandchildren, Samuel, Nathaniel, Wesley, Alexis, Riley, Tony, Aaron, and Michael Osterberg; seven step-great-grandchildren, Carson Chartier, Chaz Zanon, Beth Eckert, Austin, Lenae, McGwire, and Dayne Fahrenbruch; and her most special friends, Ella Chainey and Opal Kocha. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; sister, Dorothy Josephs; brother, Harold "Spud" Kocha; great-granddaughter, Hannah Jane Osterberg; nephews, Jerry Josephs and Edward Kocha. Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Florence. The memorial service will be Saturday, November 15, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, Wis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margaret's memory to the First Presbyterian Church, 316 Norway Street, Florence, WI, 54121.
