Obituary

Marcia M. Anderson, 83, Aurora, Wis., passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain. She was born May 18, 1924, in Aurora, daughter of the late Richard and Marianna (Bonkowski) Penno. She married Hartley Anderson on April 12, 1947, at First Lutheran Church, Iron Mountain. They were blessed with 59 years together. Marcia was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking and at age 57, began a 10 year career as a cook and dietary aide at the old hospital in Iron Mountain. She loved her job and made many lasting friendships. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her sense of humor and the stories she shared brought joy to all. Marcia is survived by her loving daughters, Kathy (Joe) Pluff, Karen (Dennis) Saunders; grandson, Ric (Brenda) Stream; great-grandchildren, Richard and Melinda Johnson; sisters, Pearl Dirkman, Phyllis (Ed) Sadowitz; nieces, nephews; special friends, Karen Kollman and Marge Nelson. Besides her parents and husband, Hartley Anderson, Marcia was preceded in death by a sister, Marianne Pramshafer; brothers, Richard Penno, Ed Lueck; brothers-in-law, Roland Dirkman, Albert Pramshafer; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Penno. Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2008, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. The memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday at the church. Pastor Jim Chinery will officiate. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Loewen and his nursing staff for many years of loving care and support, to the doctors and staff at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and dialysis unit for the care given to her. Mom was grateful for her home, family, and friends and expressed that gratitude daily during her declining years. She was truly a blessing in our lives. We love you, Mom.
