Madeline Treiber, 95, of Iron Mountain, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
She was born June 10, 1917, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Federico and Natalina (Boccalatte) Musso. Madeline grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1934. Madeline married Walter Treiber on September 23, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Madeline worked at Lake Shore for 42 years, starting in April of 1949 and retiring in 1981. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Business and Professional Women (BPW), the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Women's Club, Lady Elks, and past member of Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by three cousins, Mary (Mike) Moroni, Kingsford, Margaret (Harvey) Johnson, Spread Eagle, and Raymond (Jackie) Brosio, Las Vegas, Nev.
In addition to her parents and husband, Madeline was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Musso, Maddalena Musso, and two cousins, Louis Brosio and Thomas Berutti.
The visitation will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be offered 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
