Florence: Mabel J. Panek age 89, of Florence, Wisconsin passed away Saturday November 26, 2005 at the Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence. Mabel was born on March 6, 1916 daughter of the late Albert and Ada (Anunson) Soderberg. She later married Joseph Panek in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1990. They lived in Big Bay, Michigan for a couple of years before moving to Florence. Mabel worked on the family farm, the Svecia Club in Spread Eagle and the Florence Villa Nursing Home. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Mabel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Florence and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mabel is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Martha) Anderson Fort Worth, Tx., Robert (Evelyn) Anderson Florence, Wis., William (Rose) Panek, Florence, Wis., Joseph (Jean) Panek Aurora, Wis. One daughter, Shirley (Bill) Delano Milwaukee, Wis. One brother, Ernest (Joyce) Soderberg Redford, Mich. One sister, Viola Merhalski, Florence, Wis. Ten grandchildren, Twenty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents Mabel is preceded by, one son Dean Anderson. Four brothers, Alfred, William, David and Harold. Three sisters, Ester Forseth, Lois Nelson and Edith Gammey Visitation will be Monday November 28, 2005 from 5:00-7:00p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral services will be Monday 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Florence.
