Obituary

Lydia Peruzzi, 99, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Hyland Nursing Home, Iron Mountain. She was born March 18, 1913, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Anton and Tomaide (Tomassoni) Petroni. Lydia graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1931. She married Joseph Peruzzi on September 12, 1936, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1996. Lydia was a bookkeeper for the family business, Kist Bottling Co., for 21 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, past Regent of Daughters of Isabella, Paisano Club, and Women Auxiliary of Loyal Order of the Moose. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Anthony J. (Sheila) Petroni, Fish Creek, Wis., Susan Hammond Brooklyn Park, Minn., William (Linda) Hammond, Holliston, Mass.; great-nieces and nephews, Jacquelyn (William) MacMillan, Dominic Petroni, Lucy(Jared) Stuart, Lauren (Benjamin) Rachman, Abigail and Zachary Hammond; great-great-nieces and nephews, Josephine MacMillan; Nora and Liam Stuart, and Henry Rachman; cousins, Jack (Rita) Calcaterra, Bill Calcaterra, Audrey (Edward) Calcaterra-Jensen, Daniel (Rosemary) Stanchina; and goddaughter, Bernie (Jim) Blomquist. In addition to her husband and parents, Lydia was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Petroni and his wife, Elsie Petroni; one sister, Ann Nardi and her husband Emil Nardi. The visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2012, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be offered 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 p.m., Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery, Norway.
