Norway-Luella Gattra, 91, of Norway, Mich., passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, at Freeman Nursing & Rehabilitation Community, Kingsford, Mich. She was born June 26, 1925, in Aurora, Wis., daughter of the late Leo and Tiny (LaCrosse) Raiche. Luella grew up and attended school in Wilson, Mich. In her younger years, she worked at Pinecrest. She was united in marriage to John Gattra; he preceded her in death in 2005.Luella was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church. She enjoyed word puzzles, gardening, canning and bird watching. Luella is survived by one daughter, Susan Stanek, Norway, Mich.; one brother, Larry (Sue) Raiche, Vulcan, Mich.; two sisters, Shirley Stachowicz, Vulcan, Mich. and Connie Secrist, Channing, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Marie DeGroot, Norway, Mich. and Martha Raiche, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Edward Gattra, San Diego, Calif.; one grandson, Ryne Stanek, Norway, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Luella was preceded in death by one son, Jack Gattra; three brothers, Ray, Ronnie and Sonny; and one sister, Goldie Joy. In accordance with Luella's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
