Louise J. Widauf, 88, of Iron Mountain, formerly of Milwaukee, died Friday, September 20 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She was born May 8, 1908, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Oman) Schinderle.
Louise grew up in Iron Mountain and attended school there. She married Joseph Palluconi on January 19, 1933. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1954. Louise married Rudolph Widauf on September 18, 1966. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She lived in Iron Mountain until 1966. Louise then lived in Milwaukee and worked at the West Milwaukee Nutrition Center as a volunteer. She was also a volunteer aide at Woods V.A. Hospital and received a 5,000 Volunteer Hours Award, and was volunteer of the month in April of 1994. Louise then moved back to Iron Mountain in February of 1994.
She was a member of Christian Mothers at Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain. The Living Rosary at St. Florian's Catholic Church in Milwaukee, The 59ers and the Golden Agers senior citizen groups in Milwaukee.
Louise is survived by her son, Edward (Matti) Palluconi of Claremore, Okla.; daughter, Josephine (William) Calcari of Iron Mountain; step-son, Jerome (Judy) Widauf of Naperville, Ill.; step-daughter, Joanne (Ed) Quentin of Milwaukee; four grandchildren; on great-grandson; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Funeral Mass will be at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Darryl Pepin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
