Crystal Falls- Louise K. Floodstrand, 82, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at her home. She was born June 5, 1938, in Stambaugh, Mich., daughter of the late Sigvard and LuLu (Wuorenma) Martinson. Louise graduated from Crystal Falls High School, class of 1956. She worked for the US Steel Corporation in Waukegan, Ill. prior to marriage in 1959. On March 21, 1959 she was united in marriage to John Floodstrand. Louise loved mushrooms and had a collection of over 2,000 of them. She enjoyed traveling with her husband while he was in the Navy and took pride in taking care of her household and children during his many lengthy overseas deployments. Louise returned to Crystal Falls in 1980 where her love of the accordion led her to join the "Accordiannies" and the Lions Band. While a member of the Accordiannies her and the rest of the group were selected as Women of the Year in 1997 for their charitable work with the local senior centers and churches. They also got to perform on TV6 for the 38th Anniversary of Finland Calling. Louise was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Amasa, Mich. She loved sunflowers and anything yellow. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, John Floodstrand; one son, Wayde Floodstrand, Crystal Falls, Mich.; two daughters, Claire (Gregg) Isaacson, Crystal Falls, Mich., and Leigh (Keith) Steiro, Amasa, Mich.; grandchildren, Carmen (Josh) Novak, Bayfield, Wis., Hannah Floodstrand, Amasa, Mich., John Floodstrand, Green Bay, Wis., Carlton (Jessica) Isaacson, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Hank Steiro, Traverse City, Mich., Adel Isaacson, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Dodge Isaacson, Crystal Falls, Mich.; one brother, John (Jan) Martinson, Amasa, Mich. ; many cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Martinson. Visitation will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, Mich. A Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
