Florence:
Louise DeMuth, age 86, a long time resident of Florence and Fern, died Monday, September 13, 2004, in Eau Claire, WI, where she resided for the past year to be closer to her daughter.
She was born on October 10, 1917, in Chicago, IL. daughter of the late Stephen and Julia Szemes. She married Harry DeMuth in Chicago, on October 30, 1937. They moved to Fern, WI. in 1942, where she and Harry farmed for many years. In the late 1950's they purchased the Lakeview Convalescent Home in Florence and operated the home until 1970.
Survivors include her three children, Don DeMuth of Talkeetna, AK and Florence; Marilyn Nakamoto of Wayne, MI and Karen (Ken) Berger of Eau Claire, WI, three grandchildren, Mindy Nakamoto of Lauderdale, MN, Ericka Berger of Sun Prairie,
WI and Laura Berger(fiancé Tim Reece) of Chicago, Il.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 1980, her parents, two sisters Ida and Helen, and one brother Joseph.
Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2004, from 3 - 5p.m. and Saturday, September 18, 2004, from 9:30-10:30a.m. at the Fence Union Church in Fence, WI. Funeral services will be Saturday, at 10:30a.m. at the Fence Union Church. Pastor Tim Smith
will officiate. Burial will be in the Fence Cemetery.
