Lorraine M. Kurzewski, 85, of Kingsford, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara. She was born on March 2, 1926, in Greenland, Mich., daughter of the late John and Mary (Weza) Pattison. Lorraine married Henry "Hank" Kurzewski on November 8, 1952, in Greenland. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2007. Lorraine graduated from Greenland Township High School, Class of 1944. She then attended St. Joseph's Hancock Nursing School, receiving her Registered Nurse degree. She was a member of the American Martyrs Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Lorraine and Hank enjoyed traveling and making handcrafts and artwork, which could be found displayed around their house and their family's homes during holidays and special occasions. Lorraine is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by three brothers, James Pattison, Donald Pattison, and John Pattison. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be offered 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at American Martyrs Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Rev. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
