Loretta Mae Kennedy, 96, Crystal Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. She was born May 17, 1912, in Crystal Falls daughter of the late Frank Peter and Jenny (Laramie) LaPlant. On August 14, 1938, she married Halgar G. Fagerstrom. He died tragically in an accident in Crystal Falls in 1943. In May of 1947 she married Charles Kennedy. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1983. Loretta was a graduate of Crystal Falls High School, Class of 1931. She was a loving mother, an accomplished cook, enjoyed sewing, knitting, nature and the outdoors. Survivors include one son, Roland (Diane) Kennedy; and one grandson, Peter G. Kennedy, all of Crystal Falls. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Enstrom, Hazel Lada; and two brothers, Russell and Lester LaPlant. The Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, is serving the family. Services will be private.
