Laona- Loren H. Cooper, 86, of Laona, Wis., passed away on February 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
Loren was born on June 15, 1935, in Menominee, Mich., to Thomas and Frieda (Willison) Cooper. Loren proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for three years until being Honorably Discharged in March of 1957. On August 13, 1960, Loren married the former Bonnie Lu Kniess in Crandon, Wis.
Loren enjoyed fishing, berry picking, hunting, gambling, and joking around with family and friends. Loren always had a story to tell about his younger years. Loren's passion was playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his four children: Yvonne Gullickson, Laurie McDougal, Tammy (Tony) Jansen, Karl (Nikola) Cooper; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews; sister: Mary Perosa; sisters in law: Carol Cooper, Millie Cooper, and Betsy Cooper.
Loren was preceded in death by his wife: Bonnie Lu Cooper; children; Lynn and Frieda; parents; Thomas and Frieda; siblings: Dick (Jane) Cooper, Betty Olsen, Tom (Rose) Cooper, Wally Cooper, Roy Cooper, Pat (Bill) Uren, and Roger Cooper; stepfather: Sam Cooper; sons-in-law: Bobby Gullickson and James Juech; and great-grandson Gregory DeVerney.
Loren's daughter's Tammy & Laurie, would like to thank Luke Peterson, Jennifer Spencer, Jessica Thornton, Tom, and Scott Cooper for your assistance during this extremely difficult time in our lives.
The family would like you to join them in celebrating the life of Loren at Laona Community Building on February 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Burial service will be a private service held later in Newald, Wis, with Military Honors.
