Kingsford-Lloyd J. "Cowboy" Gauthier, age 84, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Mich.

He was born October 22, 1934, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Emil and Lucille (Paquin) Gauthier. Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and a graduate of Iron Mountain High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Lloyd married Karin Pataconi on March 3, 1962, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2013. Lloyd worked for Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company for many years. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans D.A.V.

Lloyd is known to most as "Cowboy". He spent his younger years breaking and training horses and riding in rodeos in Wyoming. Lloyd rode in many rodeos in Wyoming and locally with the "Red Riders".

Survivors include one son, Lloyd W. Gauthier, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Lori Ann Gauthier, Iron Mountain and Susan M. (Gary) Mulgrew, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Robert (Beverly) Gauthier, Cartwright, Oklahoma, Gary Gauthier, Kingsford, Mich. and Larry Gauthier, Arizona; five grandchildren, Anthony, Emily, Ethan, Ellen and Audrey, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Karin, Lloyd was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Keith, and James Gauthier; and two sisters, Caroline Gust and Beverly Gauthier.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Don Christy will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in the Spring.
