Florence- Llewellyn L. J. "Pejoe" Gollakner, 79, of Florence, Wis., passed away May 14, 2021 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Mich.
He was born February 24, 1942, in Florence, Wis., son of the late Charles and Amy (Spade) Gollakner. Pejoe had been a lifelong resident of Florence and a graduate of Florence High School, class of 1960. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge. Pejoe was united in marriage to Mary Anderson on March 25, 1963. Following marriage, they resided in Florence, where Pejoe owned and operated L.G. Landscaping for over 50 years building many rock walls and planting many trees throughout the Spread Eagle/Florence area. "He who plants trees loves others besides himself."
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and spending precious time with his grandchildren. His hard work ethic, willpower, and fight will be part of their legacy.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Gollakner; one son, Robert Gollakner; one daughter, Chevonne(Michael) Merhalski; three grandchildren, Stephanie Zellner, Garrett (Cassie) Gollakner, and Tessa Merhalski; and one great-grandchild Hudson Zellner. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law; James (Dotty) Anderson, John (Josephine) Anderson, and one sister-in-law, Esther Kletschka, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Pejoe was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles C. "Sonny" Gollakner, Wayne Kletschka, and Delbert Gollakner; and three sisters, Phyllis (Wayne) Burge and Mary (Wayne)Voelker and Erma Gollakner.
In accordance with Pejoe's wishes, private family services will be held.
