Linda M. Martell, 69, Crystal Falls, Mich. passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River, Mich. She was born November 10, 1939, daughter of the late Arnie and Lily (Manilla) Maki. Linda graduated from Amasa High School in 1957. She went to the Chicago, Ill. area to work. She married Robert Martell of Glencoe, Ill. on January 10, 1959. Linda returned to the Iron River area in 1970 with a home in Mineral Hills, she moved to City View Apartments and later to Crystal Manor and the Iron County Medical Care Facility. She enjoyed singing, visiting with neighbors, friends and relatives, bowling and women's christian groups. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 118:24, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it". Linda is survived by a son, Steven (Sandra) Martell, Buffalo Grove, Ill.; sisters, Ann (Donald) Robinson, Lake Villa, Ill., Heidi (Timothy) Czarnik, Green Bay, Wis., Aila Maki, Amasa, Mich.; brothers, David Maki, Lake Villa, Ill., Victor (Mary) Maki, Amasa, Arthur (Ruth) Maki, Charlotte, N.C., Michael Maki, Amasa; Uncle Eino (Gloria) Hamalainen, Benzonia, Mich.; Aunts, Helen (Hamalainen) Caracker, Cary, N.C., Betty Hamalainen, Corpus Christi, Tex.; 17 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces and nephews and many dear cousins.
