Lilly Thomasine Curnow, age 79, of Crystal Falls,Mich., passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
She was born, August 17, 1927, in Alpha, Mich., daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel (Thomas) Davis. She married Jack Curnow on August 17, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1989.
Lilly was a life long resident of the area. She attended Alpha Porter School and graduated in 1945. She was employed as a clerk for Pivato's IGA and Osterby's Grocery. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, and the Deborah Circle. She was a volunteer at Iron County Medical Care Facility R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) and VFW Auxiliary Post 2891. Lilly also served on the Election Board for 27 years.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Curnow, Gary (Sharon) Curnow, Randy (Jill) Curnow; one sister Margaret Seymore; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband Jack, Lilly was preceded in death by one brother Donald Davis.
Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2006, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Stephen Rhoades will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
