Lillian E. Walters, 85, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Monday, February 20, 2012, at ManorCare Health Services, Kingsford. She was born May 20, 1926, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Paul and Lillian (LaBay) Newman. Lillian grew up in Hardwood, Mich. and graduated from Felch High School. She married Clayton Walters, May 20, 1947 in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on 1991. Lillian enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering with cancer patients at their homes. She is survived by two sons, Bill Walters, Niagara, Wis., Bob (Lydia) Walters, Florida; one daughter, Beatrice (Dan) Kamiyama, California; nine grandchildren, Steven, Ben, Robbie (Kristi), Chris, Leah, Julie, Jessica, Elizabeth and Patricia; 3 great-grandchildren, Owen, Carson, Robbie; many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Lillian was preceded in death by one brother, Gordon and two sisters, Mae Thunell and Alice Thunell. Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2012, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Saturday, 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Mallory will officiate. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens, Breitung Township.
