Lillian I. Stockinger, 88, of Crystal Falls, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Northstar Health System, Iron River. She was born, February 27, 1925, in Frankenmuth, Mich., daughter of the late Lester and Jessie (Proper) Burke and Samuel Dalaba. Lillian married Mat Stockinger on July 27, 1946, in Holly, Mich. She grew up and attended school in Holly and in Colorado. Lillian moved to Crystal Falls in 1967, relocating from Kalamazoo, Mich. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Lutheran Church Women and served on the Church Outreach Committee. Lillian is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Mat; one son, Max (Jill) Stockinger, Sacramento, Cal.; five daughters, Carolyn (Duane) Luedecking, Kalamazoo, Patricia (Dave) Noble, Evansville, Ind., Pamela (Lee) Larson, Tampa, Fla., Rita Semke, Ishpeming, Mich. and Ann (Brent) Simon, Crystal Falls; four brothers, James Dalaba, Midland, Mich., Jack Dalaba, Ky., Charles Dalaba, Ariz., and Daniel Dalaba, Utah; five sisters, Nita Harrison, Cortez, Colo., Jaunita Hennisen, Manitou Springs, Colo., Mary, Colo., Bonnie, Egypt and Judy Strigel, Colorado Springs, Colo.; twenty one grandchildren and twenty six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Karl Stockinger and Kurt Stockinger; two brothers, Thomas Dalaba and Lynn Dalaba; one son-in-law, Rick Semke; two grandchildren, Charles Louis Karnak, and Jessie Rose Gibson. Visitation will be Sunday, January 5, 2014, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
