Lillian M. Schneider, age 95, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Thursday, September 06, 2018, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara, Wis.
She was born June 15, 1923, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, daughter of the late John and Florentine (Hartmann) Hockert.
Lillian married Herman Schneider on October 27, 1956, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2012. Before her marriage Lillian worked as a secretary at General Mills and played on the GM softball team. She was a longtime member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church in St. Paul and was President of the Altar and Rosary Society.Lillian was also a member of the Ullr Ski Club and the Knob Hill Ski Club in St. Paul, Minnesota as well as the Rhinelander's Club in Oxnard, California. Lillian volunteered at the hospital in Ventura, California.
Survivors include her three daughters, Ann (Thomas) Johnston, Niagara, Wisconsin, Jane (Wade) Hughan, San Francisco, California and Judy (David) Council, Edwardsville, Illinois; four sisters, Helen Worden, Calif., Loretta (Donald) Schiller and Mickey Lull, both of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and Josie Butterfield, Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Thomas (Anna), Mary, Iona, John (Corey), Margot, Mark and Mae; two great-grandchildren, Alice and Thomas.
In addition to her parents and husband, Herman, Lillian was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary (Steve) Zimmerman.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 10, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 934 East Geranium Avenue, St. Paul, Minn. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Fr. Eric Hollas will officiate. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, St. Paul, Minn.
