Lillian P. Bregger, 91, Crystal Falls, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.
She was born October 10, 1918, in Amasa, daughter of the late Nestor and Tekla (Walter) Sturvist. On January 18, 1936, she married Gilbert Bregger in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1983.
Lillian grew up in Amasa and moved to Crystal Falls in 1936. She worked at the former Osterby's Grocery and Crystal Manor, Crystal Falls. Lillian was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star (OES), United Methodist Women (UMW), Crystal Falls, and the White Shrine, Iron Mountain.
Survivors include, one daughter, Nancy (Max) Woelffer, Crystal Falls; two grandchildren, Mary (Bob) Patterson, Chanhassen, Minn., Karen (Mark) Nylund, Crystal Falls; four great-grandchildren, Maggie, Libby, Abby, Max; one sister, Eva Gill, Crystal Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Aune Alatalo, and three brothers, Eino Sturvist, John Hanttula, and Victor Hanttula.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Monday February 8, 2010, at Christ United Methodist Church, Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Rev. Stephen Rhoades will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
