Lillian Ahola, 90, of Crystal Falls, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.
She was born April 7, 1917, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Charles and Hulda (Stolberg) Johnson. On February 21, 1946, in Crystal Falls, she married William Ahola. He survives.
Lillian was a member of Unit 87, American Legion, Women's Auxiliary, Crystal Falls. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and was an accomplished seamstress. Lillian was fluent in Swedish and had been a interpreter for Dr. Palm. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls.
Survivors include her husband, William Ahola, Crystal Falls; one daughter, Susan (Frank) Foley, Dallas, Ga., two sons, Robert (Louise) Ahola and John (Pat) Ahola, Crystal Falls; six grandchildren, Brian Ahola, Mark (Robin) Ahola, Tim Lampi, Amanda Lampi, Teresa (Nathaniel) Kudwa, Adam (Becky) Ahola, two great-grandchildren, Aubrianna Ahola, Lauren Kudwa; one sister, Margaret Davis, Crystal Falls; and two nieces, Carol (Larry) Conwell and Barbara Reed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Sigred Rosengren, Catherine Bishop, Helen Johnson, and one brother, Carl Johnson.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007, at United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
