Lila D. Mickelson, 87, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, Wis. She was born May 23, 1923, in Niagara, daughter of the late Fred and Agnes (Strouf) Dejmek. Lila grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School. She married Harold Mickelson of Pembine on September 25, 1948, in Niagara. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2007. Lila was employed in the office at the Niagara Paper Mill for thirty-nine years, retiring in 1980. She has always enjoyed travelling, craft work, and reading. She is survived by a brother, Dr. Robert Dejmek, Appleton, Wis.; a sister, Dorothy Sherman, Glendale, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Leonard Mickelson, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Linnea Baker, Lodi, Wis.; many nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara. In memory of Lila, donations may be made to the Niagara Senior Citizens Ltd., Niagara.
