Lila J. Klenovich, 88, of Niagara, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara.
She was born Mach 7, 1923, in Niagara, daughter of the late George Henry and Edna (Ebidon) Towns. Lila grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School. She married Albert Klenovich on December 26, 1942, in Manhatten, Kans. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1996.
After being married, Lila and Albert resided in Niagara. Lila worked at Maryhill Manor as a Nurses Aide for over twenty-four years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Anthony's Council of Catholic Women and was very supportive and involved with her husband, Albert, in his quest to become a Deacon in the Catholic Church. Lila was involved with St. Vincent de Paul and Wausaukee Enterprises. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years, a foster mother, and as an active leader in the Niagara High School Band as well as the Redette Girls Drill Team.
She enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, sewing, cooking, and baking.
Lila is survived by two sons, John (Peggy) Klenovich, Niagara, Michael Klenovich, Iron Mountain; one daughter, Regina (Gary) Paquette, Aurora; five grandchildren, John (Shanda Crosley) Meister, Nick Meister, Ashly (Jeremy Nelson) Klenovich, Amy (James) McClelland, Lee (Ahn) Cooper; seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2012, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
