Leslie W. "Peeler" Marble, 87, Aurora, Wisc., passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Oscar G. Johnson Veterans Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich.

He was born on December 25, 1930, in Kingsford, Mich. son of the late Merrill and Esther (Wirtz) Marble. Peeler attended and graduated from Kingsford High School, class of 1948. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 until 1959. Peeler married Carol Barnard on June 30, 1962, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aurora, Wisc. He worked for the US Postal Service as a clerk for 20 years before retiring. Peeler was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church, Kingsford. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making toys, trucks, and cars. Peeler also enjoyed doing yard work. He will be remembered as being a character and having a great sense of humor by his family and many friends

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol; five children Michael (Gary) Marble, Minn., Elizabeth "Liz" (Jason) Koller, Kingsford, Steven (Linda) Marble, Ga., Patrick (Jill) Marble, Colo., Christopher (Darci) Marble, Minn.; one brother James (Carolyn) Marble, Minn.; seven grandchildren Josh, Brianne, Victoria, Sarah, Maria, Jacob, and Claire and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Peeler was preceded in death by two brothers Arnold "Arnie" Marble and Merrill "Sonny" Marble and two sisters Helen Blank and Fay Marble.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, 9:00am at the Aurora-Homestead Cemetery, Aurora, Wisc. The Uren Cooper Johnson American Legion Post #50, Iron Mountain will accord military honors at graveside.
