Leonard DeMark
FLORENCE, Wis. — Leonard L. DeMark, 80, of Florence, Wis., died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Mr. DeMark was born May 26, 1922, in Florence, son of the late Sam Demark and Rose (Dreary) DeMark.
Leonard was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Upon returning to Florence, he worked as a farmer. He later moved to Chicago where he was employed by the Zenith Assembly Plant in Chicago for 20 years. He later moved back to Florence and his farm.
Leonard was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of both Florence and Iron Mountain and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of Florence. He was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Florence.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom, Reasa, Sam Jr., Ernest and Mike, and four sisters, Vivian Leonardi, Esther Stacy, Lorita Osterfield and Rachel Niccettle.
Leonard is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Commonwealth, Wis.
