Leona "Lee" Mae Leonard, 87, of Crystal Falls, passed way Thursday May 1, 2014, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.
She was born May 10, 1926, in Kingsford, Mich., daughter of the late Walter and Ellen (Peelman) Martwick. Lee grew up in Tomahawk, Wisc. and graduated from Tomahawk High School, Class of 1944. She married Charles Joseph Leonard on May 28, 1949, in Tomahawk. They resided in Tomahawk for a short period of time before moving to Chicago, Ill. and in 1954, moved to Crystal Falls.
Lee along with her husband Charles owned and operated Crystal Auto Supply from 1962, until they retired in 1984. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church since the early fifties. Most recently she attended Faith Fellowship Community Church, Crystal Falls. Lee was a member of the Crystal Homemakers Extension Club; she enjoyed golfing in her young years, bowling, decorating, gardening, flowers and especially spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Tim Leonard, Crystal Falls and Mick (Debbi) Leonard, Crystal Falls; one daughter, Susan (Randy) Watts, Green Bay, Wisc.; one brother, Marty Martwick, Crystal Falls; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband Charles, Lee was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Martwick and one sister, Muriel Kuehling.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Fellowship Community Church, Crystal Falls. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Cheryle Spicer will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
