Leona Coppo
FELCH — Leona Coppo, 81, of Felch passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
Leona was born April 16, 1921, in Felch, daughter of Hilda and Axel Branback. She was a graduate of Felch High School.
On April 5, 1947, she married Nate Coppo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31 of this year.
Leona was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Foster City, serving there was president of the Altar Society for a number of years. She was also a Campfire Girl Leader, as well as a volunteer for the Felch Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) when her children were in school.
Leona enjoyed reading, crocheting and helping others.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Leona is survived by three loving daughters, Barbara (Mike) Beauchamp of Hardwood, Rita (Bill) Edberg of Breitung Township and Eva (Butch) Carlson of Kingsford; five grandchildren, Rhonda (Larry) Johnson of Felch, Renee Wickman of Felch, Donald (Heather) Carlson of Cedar Springs and Allison and Angela Edberg of Breitung Township, and five great-grandchildren, Mark and Victoria Wickman, Erica and Cory Johnson of Felch and Brendon Carlson of Cedar Springs.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Joseph Ryan Carlson, in 1976.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Fr. George Kuppayil will officiate.
Burial will be in Felch Cemetery.
