Leo M. Baith, 90, of Florence (Commonwealth Township), Wisconsin, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Michigan.
He was born July 10, 1919, in Portage, Pennsylvania, son of the late John L. and Christina (Denne) Baith. On July 23, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois he married Catherine Bednarski. She survives.
Leo retired in 1963 from the Veterans Hospital, now the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army in India and Burma. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 211, Florence, and the Florence County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3635.
Survivors include, his wife, Catherine Baith, Florence; two sons, Louis (Sue) Baith, David (Terri) Baith, Appleton, Wis., two daughters, Marian (Arland) Klimek, Green Bay, Wis., Celeste Baith, Florence; four grandchildren, Sara (Jim) Medinger, Kristin (Justin) Latham, Adam Baith, Luke Baith; two great-grandchildren, Delaney, Brayden; and one sister, Sarah Cerwensky, Portage, Penn. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and four sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 20, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. VFW Post No. 3635, Florence, will accord military rites 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the church. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:45 a.m. Saturday, at the church. Rev. Matt Settle will officiate.
