Lenore I. Borns, 96, of Florence, passed away, Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. She was born August 8, 1916, in Kenton, Mich., daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Andree) Peterson. Lenore married Everett Borns in Iron River, Mich., on October 28, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1987. Lenore was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Florence. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, excellent seamstress, and enjoyed many hobbies including flower gardening, feeding the birds and chipmunks, and watching the deer and bear from her kitchen window. She is survived by one daughter, Donna (Bob) Hitchcock, Columbia Station, Ohio; two granddaughters, Barbara Hitchcock and Deborah Hitchcock, both of Columbia Station, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Oscar Greenlund, Iron Mountain; nieces, nephews, and her very cherished family friend, Faye Uren, Florence. In addition to her parents and husband, Lenore was preceded in death by one son, Everett "Butch" Borns, Jr., 2008; two sisters, Eileen Greenlund and Margorie Martorelli; three brothers, Gervin Peterson, Vincent Peterson, and Norman Peterson. The visitation will be Monday, January 21, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home. Rev.
