Lena M. (Bertot) Piche, age 94, of Niagara, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 31, 1911, in Turin, Italy, daughter of the late Zefferino and Bertoldo (Giacomora) Bertot.
Lena came to the United States at a young age and resided in Negaunee, Mich. She then moved to Iron Mountain and later to Niagara. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Lena owned and operated Lena's Beauty Shop in Niagara for many years. She later worked at Golden Brown Bakery in Norway, Mich. Lena enjoyed crocheting and the Packers.
Survivors include one son, Thomas (Sylvia) Piche, Dunbar, Wis.; two sisters, Mary Yaggie, Oshkosh, Wis., Pauline Krezman, Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren, Dennis (Pam) Smart, Pembine, Wis., Corrina (Bob) Luckus, North Dakota, Sharon (Dave) Antonissen, Niagara, Wis., Renee (Dan) Weber, Aurora, Wis.; 13 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Lena was preceded in death by two brothers, Frankie Bertot, John Bertot; one sister, Jennie Neveau; and one great-grandson, Cody DePas.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 10:30 am – 11:00 am, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, 11:00 am at the church. Father Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
