Niagara:
LaVerne E. Larson age 87, of Iron Mountain died Sunday January 4, 2004 at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara, Wisconsin.
LaVerne was born on January 22, 1916 in Iron mountain daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary (Rouse) Allard. LaVerne married Clifton (Wolf) Larson of Norway, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1975.
LaVerne was lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and Norway where she worked at the Norway Sewing Factory and later for 10 years at the Corner House restaurant along with her daughter (the owner) where they enjoyed making numerous pasties together.
She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant church of Norway.
LaVerne loved working in her yard and her flower garden and being at camp with her husband and spending much time with her daughter and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She also kept busy with her private sewing and alteration business. Many people remember LaVerne for her sewing.
LaVerne was survived by, one daughter Joyce (Ken) Kanyuh of Iron Mountain. Two sisters, Betty Martin of Milwaukee, WI. and Jeanette (Robert) Juttee of Menominee, MI. Three grandchildren, Shelley (David) Steele of Iron Mountain, Cy (Ann) Kanyuh of Branson, MO. Rock (Jeanne) Kanyuh of Appleton, WI., Five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces.
Preceded by, four brothers, Bill, Sam, Ed and Lloyd.
Private family visitation and services were held. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery.
