Iron Mountain- Laura Lynn Kowalczyk, 58, of Channing, Mich., passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, Iron Mountain, Mich.

She was born on October 13, 1965, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of Bob and Dawn (Fontana) Kowalczyk. Laura grew up in Elk Grove, Ill., and graduated from James B. Conant High School. After graduating, Laura traveled the United States before settling in Channing, Mich., in the early 2000s.

Laura had a passion for rock hunting, thrift shopping, and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. She was loyal to all her friends, family, and everyone else in her life. Her family is what made her the happiest. Laura was known for her cooking and had many signature dishes. She was a very strong-willed woman who had her own opinions. Her absolute favorite way to spend her time was dancing and listening to music, either recorded or live.

Laura is survived by her parents, Bob and Dawn Kowalczyk; sons, Justin (Liz) Kowalczyk, Jon (Danielle) Kowalczyk, and Jacob Kowalczyk; brother, Scott (Lisa) Kowalczyk; and grandson, Charlie Kowalczyk.
