Larry J. Stream, 68, of Mansfield Twp., passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
He was born September 27, 1944, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Frank and Eva (Alto) Stream.
Larry attended school in Crystal Falls and graduated from Forest Park High School, Class of 1963. He joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged June 5, 1968, with the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, Larry went to Northern Michigan University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He taught Industrial Arts in Wausaukee, Wisconsin until his retirement.
He was an active outdoorsman enjoying, hunting, fishing, and trapping as well as snowmobiling. Larry was a member of the Sagola Township Sportsmen's Club in Sagola.
Survivors include, two sons, Jon (Heather Perez) Stream, Tioga, Pa., James (Jacqueline) Stream, Whittier, Calif.; two daughters, Sherry (Steve Balla) Stream, Houghton, Shelly (Mauricio Ortiz) Stream, Zion, Ill; five grandchildren, Christian Jay Stream, Catherine Jayden Stream, Cian James Stream, Emily Ortiz, Evangelina Ortiz; two brothers, Frank M. (Linda) Stream, Wausaukee, William E. (Julie) Stream, Ishpeming; his former spouse, Sandra Stream, Crystal Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Old Mansfield Church, Mansfield. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the church. Rev. Micheal Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
