Kevin E. Naylor, 57, of Iron Mountain, was taken from the loving arms of his family to his final home in the loving arms of our heavenly Father, Sunday, December, 9, 2007, following a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 23, 1950, in Dearborn, Mich., son of Gertrude and the late George Naylor. Kevin graduated from Edsel Ford High School and attended Wayne State University, graduating with a degree in Business Marketing. While beginning his career in the insurance industry at a downstate insurance agency, Kevin met his wife, Nancy. They celebrated 18 years of marriage on September 14, 2007. Kevin and Nancy moved to the Upper Peninsula in 1991, when he was employed with Citizens Insurance. In 1995, Kevin and Nancy moved to Iron Mountain and purchased Upper Peninsula Insurance Specialists. In 2006, they also purchased U.P. Chucks Community Bar & Grill, Kenton, Mich. Kevin enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions, NASCAR, camping, and being with people. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends the most. His family was his world. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Nancy, Iron Mountain; mother, Gertrude Naylor; five children, Daniel (Kelly) Lawson, Virginia Tech, Jennifer (Darryl) Johnson, Quinnesec, Mich., Christina (Donald) Lauridsen, Kingsford, Mich., Michael Lawson, Iron Mountain, Megan (Travis) Lewis, Kingsford; four grandchildren, Dempsey and Shawn Lauridsen, Nathan Johnson, Jason Daniel Lawson, who was born on Kevin's birthday; brothers-in-law, Michael (Theresa) Grigsby, Jim (Denise) Grigsby; sister-in-law, Judy Naylor; nieces and nephews, Brian (Denise) Grigsby, Mandie (Greg) Franco, Scott Grigsby, Matthew & Devon Grigsby, Jeff & Tammy Naylor, Ashley, Amber, & Jason Naylor; special friend and adopted mom, Erma Lawson. Besides his father, George, Kevin was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle Jean Lauridsen; mother-in-law, Dorothy Grigsby; and brother, Jeffrey Naylor. Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The memorial service will be 7:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home.
