Kevin E. Brinkman, 62, of Niagara, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 14, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 13, 1954, in Wausau, Wis. son of the late Eugene and Ruth (Viertel) Brinkman.
Kevin grew up in Wausau and graduated from D.C. Everest High School in Wausau, Class of 1972. He served in the United States Army from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1975. Kevin married Laura Kotlewski on October 8, 1977, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Rothschild, Wis. He worked as a Union Pipefitter at the American Can Paper Mill in Rothschild until 1989. Kevin and Laura moved to Niagara in 1989, where he was employed at the Champion Paper Mill in Quinnesec, he retired in 2012.
He was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Kevin enjoyed everything the outdoors had to offer; hunting, going to camp and riding motorcycles. He listened to Classic Rock, was a follower of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and was an avid Jeff Gordon Nascar fan. Kevin cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren they were his pride and joy.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Laura; one son, Corey Brinkman, Niagara; two daughters, Jessica (Andy) Brinkman, Kannapolis, N.C. and Sarah (Eric) Brinkman, Niagara; his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Kitsembel, Niagara; two brothers, David (Diane) Brinkman, Galloway, Wis. and Michael Brinkman, Schofield, Wis.; four sisters, Paula (Tom) Vogt, Wausau, Mary (Walter) Osswald, Kronenwetter, Wis., Janine (Mark) Drews, Aniwa, Wis. and Patti (Bob) Brayack, Wasilla, Alaska; two grandchildren, Aidan Brinkman-Morgan and Dylan Erickson; twelve nieces and nephews; numerous aunts and uncles and special friend and cousin, Kurt Brinkmann.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his fathers-in-law, Edward Kitsembel and Stephen Kotlewski.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. The Niagara American Legion Cretton-Tutas Post No. 136 will accord Military Honors, 10:45 a.m. at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate.
