Kenneth (Ken) Gerald Maki (Bubbles)
Kenneth Maki, 80, Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023 at Iron County Medical Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich. Ken was born September 11,1942 in Stambaugh Mich. to Wyner and Suoma (Kovero) Maki.
Ken attended Iron River High school. He worked as a machinist and began his career in Green Bay, Wisc. He then worked several years in Seattle, Wash. for Boeing before returning to Green Bay, Wisc. where he worked as a machinist supervisor at Paper Converting. Ken retired from Paper Converting.
Upon retirement, Ken returned to what he called God's country, the UP of Michigan. Ken loved the outdoors, camping, snowmobiling, hunting, cars and(wrenching on them), talking with friends about the old days, golf, watching the packers and sitting back with a Schnauzer dog on his lap.
Ken is survived by two daughters, Narissa (Kevin) Lohrey (Algoma,WI) and Melissa (Chad) Dorner (Butternut WI), his grandchildren Chris VanKilsdonk, Megan Spice, Rick Jantz, Niki Lester, Autumn Mussati, Chad and Cody Dorner and friend Jean Lahti.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Maki and his wife of 45 years, Judith LaBelle Maki.
A big thanks to all the caretakers at Iron County Medical Care Center who took excellent care of Ken for the many years he was a resident. He was physically and medically comforted and cared for by the professional staff which works there.
In accordance with Ken's wishes, no service or visitation will be held.
