Obituary

Kenneth J. Finendale, 73, of Felch, passed away peacefully at his home after a very courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 26, 2012. He was born September 11, 1939, in Bark River, Mich., son of the late Eugene and Lillian (DeGrave) Finendale. Ken grew up in Kingsford where he attended American Martyrs Catholic Church and served as an altar boy. He graduated from Kingsford High School, 1958. He married Mary Will on September 12, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aurora, Wis. Ken was a meat cutter at Monette's IGA in Kingsford and later worked for Nault's Grocery as its Manager. Ken went on to own and operate City Sales in Iron Mountain for over 35 years, before retiring. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, camping, traveling, going to camp, casino trips, and spending time with his family and friends. Ken will forever be remembered for his great sense of humor and his storytelling. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary; one son, Scott (Kathleen) Finendale, Swartz Creek, Mich; one daughter, Donna (Richard, Jr.) Roberts, Iron Mountain; one daughter-in-law, Julie Sandona; one brother, Robert (Diane) Finendale, Iron Mountain; one sister, Marian Lewis, Ontonagon, Mich.; four grandchildren, Heather, Neil, and Douglas Finendale, and John Lorasch; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two sons, Perry and Brian Finendale; one sister Shirley Julian. Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain. A special thank you to the Bellin Cancer team in Green Bay and their clinic in Kingsford.
